Questions about 99.5% Pure Rebaudioside-A?The good taste of Sweet+ is because we use 99.5% pure Rebaudioside-A. The following is an excerpt from the Sweet Aloha Farms website. (Sweet Aloha Farms extracts 99.5% pure Rebaudioside-A from stevia). What is rebaudioside-A?Rebaudioside-A, is one of the many glycosides in the stevia leaf. Rebaudioside-A has been identified as good-tasting and lacking in bitterness. What if I already purchase stevia with 90% steviosides?99.5% pure Rebaudioside-A is not the same. If the stevia powder you currently use is claimed to contain 90% or even 100% steviosides, check the label to see what the Rebaudioside-A level is. Most likely the Rebaudioside-A percentage will be lower and the bitter components will not have been removed. Where does 99.5% pure Rebaudioside-A come from?99.5% pure Rebaudioside-A is an unmodified extract of the Stevia plant. It does not use enzymatic or chemical modification of the glycosides. Is it GMO (Genetically Modified)? No, the plants have been selectively bred to increase overall glycoside and specifically the Rebaudioside-A content. How is processed? Some portions of the process are proprietary. The major steps in the extraction are:
There is no processing to adjust flavor, color, and appearance. Nor is there any modification of the glycosides. Why does 99.5% pure Rebaudioside-A taste better than other stevia products? The process removes virtually all of the bitter tasting Steviosides that make up the bulk of other Stevia extracts. The result is a 99.5% pure Rebaudioside-A product. Typical values of other Stevia extracts have Rebaudioside-A levels ranging from 20 to 70%. Note: Most stevia products will claim 90 percent or higher stevia content. This may be true, however their Rebaudioside-A content is only a fraction of the overall content. The other steviosides carry the bitter taste. |
